We have an upcoming opening for the student/seasonal position of Planning and Development Student. The successful candidate has completed a minimum of the third year of a post-secondary program related to planning and development. A student currently enrolled in a Master’s program is preferred.

You possess working knowledge of municipal planning policy and provincial legislative regulations and have a basic understanding of land use planning and Official Community Plans. You have excellent communication and customer service skills, experience working with Microsoft Office 365 and a valid BC drivers license.

Reporting to the Planning Manager, the Planning and Development Student assists staff with planning enquiries, applications, and long-range planning projects through research, report preparation, and community engagement. Active projects include Housing Needs Report updates, Zoning Bylaw amendments (addressing new housing legislation) and OCP mapping designation analysis and build-out potential.

This is a full-time position (40 hours/week) from approximately April 28, 2025 until August 29, 2025 with a wage of $21.69 per hour plus 16% in lieu of vacation, statutory holidays and all other benefits for an aggregate total of $25.16 per hour.
