We have an upcoming opening for the regular, full-time position of Administrative Assistant, Strategic and Community Services. The successful candidate will have a diploma in office administration, a minimum of two years of administrative experience and hold a valid BC driver’s license. Local government administrative experience will be considered an asset.

You are detail oriented, possess superior organizational skills and are an excellent communicator. You have exemplary interpersonal skills, can sensitively manage confidential information and can effectively multi-task to provide administrative support to the Strategic and Community Services Department. You are proficient with Microsoft Office products. Preference will be shown to candidates with direct experience and working knowledge of records management practices, as well as applicable legislative requirements for local government operations.

Reporting to the General Manager, Strategic and Community Services, the Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing senior administrative support for Parks, Recreation and Culture, Solid Waste Management, and Rural Services programs and initiatives. This position also provides relief reception coverage.

This is a regular, full-time position (35 hours/week) with a starting wage of $31.67 per hour increasing to $36.40 per hour, as well as an extensive benefits package and generous compressed work schedule.
