We have an immediate opening for the regular, full-time position of Water Quality Technician. The successful candidate will have a valid BC driver’s license, a diploma in water quality technology, environmental technology, resource management or a related field.
You will have sound knowledge of the Drinking Water Protection Act and Regulations, Guidelines for Canadian Drinking Water and water quality and stewardship planning. You will also possess excellent knowledge of drinking water sample collection techniques, instrumentation and monitoring equipment. A minimum of two years of water quality experience within local government or an engineering firm is required.
Reporting to the Manager, Water Quality, the Water Quality Technician contributes to the efficient and effective delivery of drinking water for Greater Vernon and for other water utilities of the Regional District.

This is a regular, full-time position (35 hours/week) with a starting wage of $33.42 increasing to $38.40 per hour, as well as an extensive benefits package and compressed work schedule.
