We have an immediate opening for the regular, full-time position of Recreation Leader. The successful candidate will have a diploma in event planning, tourism, community recreation, public administration or a related field and hold a valid BC driver’s license.
You are highly organized, a creative thinker and provide superb customer service with the ability to deal tactfully with the public. You possess sound marketing and planning skills and are familiar with recreation booking software such as PerfectMind, as well as excellent skills in the use of Microsoft Office Suite of Products (Word, Excel, Outlook). A minimum of two years experience in event planning, tourism or recreation preferably within local government is required.
Reporting to the Manager, Parks and Recreation, the Recreation Leader is responsible for the development and implementation of recreational programs and services at White Valley parks and facilities. The position will also provide administrative support to the Strategic and Community Services department. The incumbent will be physically located in Lumby approximately 70% of the time (3-4 days per week) with the remaining time scheduled at the Regional District’s Aberdeen Road office.

This is a regular, full-time position (35 hours/week) with a wage range of $30.45 to $35.00 per hour, depending upon experience and qualifications.
